Balance Skills

Balancing, whether on one leg or two, is an essential skills for everyone.

With a few minutes practice, you preschool can improve their balancing abilities with this quick task.

  1. Ask them to stand, with their feet together.
  2. Place paper scrap -or- a coin/disk in front of them.
  3. Ask them to place one foot on the ‘coin’.
  4. Then draw/drag that ‘coin’ towards the standing foot.
  5. Practice with both feet.

This is a basic skills that will form strong links between body and brain as well as build body control.

Suggest that the child use their arms, stretching sidewards, to aid their work.
